Access to information
BUSHkids will respond to reasonable and appropriate requests from present or former clients to access personal information held by the organisation. Facilitating this access to information is essential for organisational transparency and accountability.
Requests for access to information is required in writing and should include:
- Full name (include former names to assist historical searches)
- Home address
- Contact number
- Relationship to client (if requestor not the client)
- Name of Centre or Home attended
- Dates or year of attendance (or approximate)
- Other information that may assist the search
Sufficient evidence of the client’s identity must be provided with the written request, such as a copy of:
- Driver licence
- Passport
- Birth Certificate, or extract from a register of births
- Medicare card
If a person is requesting access to information on behalf of a current or former client, the person making the request must provide sufficient evidence of their authority to act on the behalf of that client and provide sufficient evidence of their identity, as per above.

Timeframe for response
Access to the requested information will be provided within 20 working days (4 weeks) from the date of receipt of the written request and form of identification document.
Where no information is located, the requestor will be advised via email on completion of the records search.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants
All participant information and records collected by BUSHkids are stored and held within the NDIS database. BUSHkids has no ability to access information for the purposes of providing it to a requestor.
