As BUSHkids celebrates 90 years of service to Queensland children and families, we reflect with pride on our rich history and enduring commitment to regional, rural and remote communities. Since 1935, BUSHkids has been guided by a clear purpose and steadfast belief that all children should have the opportunity to reach their potential.
This milestone provides opportunity for reflection and renewal. It marks the culmination of our 2021–26 Strategic Plan: a framework that has strengthened our foundations, enhanced our reach, and deepened our impact across the state. We have continued to build an organisation that is responsive, resilient and ready for the future.
The six Key Result Areas (KRAs) in our Strategic Plan — Engaged People, Good Governance, Effective Services, Connected Communities, Sustainable Operations, and Research and Raising Awareness — have provided a clear structure for decision-making and accountability. Each KRA has matured over the past five years, shaping an organisation that is both values-driven and forward looking.
Under Engaged People, our workforce continues to embody the heart and spirit of BUSHkids. Across Queensland, our clinicians and professional teams work tirelessly with children and families, often in challenging circumstances, to deliver life-changing early intervention and allied health services. Their skill, compassion and commitment are what make BUSHkids such a trusted, respected organisation across the state.
Supporting them is our Shared Services team — finance, human resources, ICT, work health and safety, quality, governance, administration and communications — who ensure our people have the tools, systems and support they need to deliver their best work. Together, these dedicated folks form one cohesive BUSHkids workforce united by purpose and care for Queensland families. I would also like to acknowledge our Leadership Team, whose experience, integrity and competence continue to position BUSHkids as a trusted provider and respected leader in early intervention and allied health services.
