Career Opportunities Early Start Team

Current positions with BUSHkids Early Start Team

We are currently recruiting for the following positions for our Early Start Team in Bundaberg, in conjunction with our partnership with NDIS: 

Team Leader Early Childhood Early Intervention - Bundaberg

 In the role of ECEI Team Leader at BUSHkids you will have the opportunity to:

  •  Lead a transdisciplinary early intervention team and contribute as a core member of the clinical leadership team at BUSHkids
  • Work collaboratively with families and other agencies to maximise developmental outcomes and independence for the child and their family

Mandatory requirements for this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in an allied health profession is highly desirable, however other relevant qualifications may be considered in an appropriately experienced candidate
  • Registration and/or memberships relevant to qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in managing a funded program in a non-Government organisation
  • Experience in providing professional supervision
  • Experience in Early Childhood Early Intervention
  • Relevant Post-Graduate Training.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge in contemporary family-centred early intervention and prevention services for children and families
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills including effective interpersonal skills necessary for good working relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of professional supervision
  • Demonstrated program management experience and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Senior Coordinator - Early Childhood Early Intervention (Bundaberg)

The Senior Coordinator will work as a senior member of a transdisciplinary team in a key worker model providing services to families with children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability.

In the role of the ECEI Senior Coordinator at BUSHkids you will have the opportunity to:

  • Undertake delegated leadership responsibilities on behalf of Team Leader as required
  • Be responsible for assessment, planning, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement related to the provision of the scope of the incumbent’s discipline.
  • Understand the scope of practice of Early Intervention Facilitators involved in the provision of services and thereby provide appropriate levels of supervision and delegation.
  • Develop goals and plans with every client inclusive of other team members involved in the care and management of that client in accordance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach

Mandatory requirements for this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health, nursing or education, and registration with appropriate body; plus significant relevant professional experience.
  • Registration and/or memberships relevant to qualification.

Desirable:

  • Significant experience in working in early childhood intervention.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Clinical Practice

  • Significant professional experience and knowledge in working with children with developmental delay or disability with a focus on early intervention and family centred practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of the requirements of Early Childhood Early Intervention Teams delivering services under NDIS

Communication/Team Participation 

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary for good working relationships and client care
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

Leadership/Work Unit Management

  • Experience in providing supervision or support to less experienced team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision and to appropriately manage time and workload

Early Intervention Facilitator - Early Childhood Early Intervention (Bundaberg)

The Early Intervention Facilitator will work as part of the service delivery team that will provide services to families with children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability.

As an Early Intervention Facilitator at BUSHkids you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide information and resources to the families about NDIS and services which will address their goals;
  • Adhere to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) statement of requirements;
  • Provide care when and where it best meets the clients’ needs including on site, at home and in the community;

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience in working in early childhood education, intervention or other relevant work experience and/or qualifications.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated a practical, can-do attitude and a passion for children, families and the community
  • Demonstrated excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, choice and control and the principles of person centred care
