In full bright colour, the logo depicts a boy and a girl, under the Queensland sun, enjoying the experiences given. The colourful lines that join the faces represent - family, development, enjoyment and achievement - all those skills and understanding the Bush Children's programs endeavour to support and enrich.

(This is the fifth Logo used by Bush Children's and was introduced in 2007.)

Bush Children’s is a non-Government, community organization which offers a range of allied health services to children and families living in rural Queensland.

The Organization was founded in 1935 when the Queensland Governor, Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, concerned at the state of rural children’s health challenged fellow members of TOC H to respond to these concerns.  They organized a children’s camp in Torquay at Christmas and provided the necessary health checks.  Amazed at the results they decided to persist with the camps and establish an Organization to ensure continuation of the work. Through the following years many thousands of Queensland children accessed vital health services provided through the Organization’s Homes established in four coastal centres.

This year Bush Children’s celebrates its 75th year of service and while the process of service provision has changed the key to our work is still health access for rural children. Prevention or early intervention is also an essential feature of any programs we would offer.

Working from centres located in Bundaberg, Dalby, Emerald, Inglewood, Mount Isa and Warwick, multi-professional teams, comprising a psychologist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist and family health support worker, provide therapy services to children and families who have been referred to the service.

Our clients are rural children aged to 13 years who are suffering some behavioural, emotional, social and/or developmental difficulties. Short term intensive therapy through group or individual settings is the aim of the program. Parent support and development programs are also a core component of our courses.
